What the heck is eating elephants all about?

I am easily overwhelmed with big projects.  Figure out an annual family budget?  My head spins.  Interpret new health insurance information & pick something?  My palms get sweaty.

Educate my son at home?  I question myself constantly.

Luckily, God blessed me with a husband who excels in organizing, assessing, predicting, etc.  He is a master of planning.

We sat & talked last week about homeschooling. How I worry about failing Reese, & what if he doesn't do well on his SATs, & what if I pick the wrong curriculum, & what if, what if, what if....

He gently reminded me:

You have to eat an elephant one bite at a time.

Focus on what's happening tomorrow.  Think about plans for the next week.  Don't sweat what you're going to do next year.  It's not time for that yet.

Nobody ever failed in college because his mom picked the wrong first grade spelling curriculum.

  1. Thank you for this post! I worry about these things too. And I can tell you from experience that when you try to eat that elephant in one big bite it can make you very sick to your stomach! Now if only my hubby could help me get organized. I need some major help in that area!
